Koeneng is a community‐council area located in the Berea District of the Kingdom of Lesotho, sometimes spelled “Kueneng”. Positioned within the mountainous terrain typical of Lesotho, Koeneng includes numerous villages such as Bela-Bela (Moreneng), Ha ‘Makotola, Ha Lebentlele and others.

The governance of Koeneng is managed by the Koeneng Community Council, which is the local government body overseeing community development, service delivery and public participation for the residents of the area. According to a case study by Gender Links in 2018, the Council has 17 members (11 men and 6 women) with a woman chairperson and men as deputies; two of the three principal committees are chaired by women.
