Hwange is a town in Zimbabwe, located in Hwange District, in Matabeleland North Province, in north-western Zimbabwe, close to the international borders with Botswana and Zambia approximately 100 kilometers, by road, southeast of Victoria Falls, the nearest large city.

The town lies on the railway line from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second-largest city, to Victoria Falls. The town shares borders with Hwange Rural District Council. It is also well known for the Hwange National Park. The council is a spoke council in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming in local government, mentored by Bulawayo City Council.
The council was rated the second-best urban spoke council at the 2020 local government  SADCProtocol@Work Summit.
