Chiredzi Town Council is located in Masvingo Province, 201 km south-east of Masvingo town.

Introduction

Chiredzi Town Council is located in Masvingo Province, 201 km south-east of Masvingo town. It is one of the biggest institutions in Chiredzi with regards to the number of people it employed, the volume of services it provides to the public and the public utility works it carries out.
The town is small and has major industries, Delta Chibuku Breweries, Dairy board and is surrounded by sugar cane producing estates, which include Triangle, Hippo Valley, Mkwasine and smallholder farmers, which require large volumes of water for irrigation and domestic use. The council is a spoke council in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming in local government, mentored by Bikita Rural District Council. The council serves 11,545 households with an average household size of 3.5.

Partnered with Zimbabwe Republic Police Victim Friendly Unit for Gender Based Violence Programmes.
39% of the council’s workforce are women.
