Bulilima district is situated in Matabeleland South Province, and it spans an area of 715 545, hectares being bordered by Mangwe district in the South, Tsholotsho district in the north, Umguza district in the east and the Republic of Botswana in the west.

Bulilima district is situated in Matabeleland South Province and it spans an area of 715 545,4549 hectares being bordered by Mangwe district in the South, Tsholotsho district in the north, Umguza district in the east and the Republic of Botswana in the west.
The District falls under Agro-ecological Natural regions four and five which are regions of low agricultural potential due to shortage of moisture to facilitate agricultural production. The livelihoods of the communities in Bulilima District depend entirely on petty trade, cross border trading, livestock rearing, little crop production and remittances. Bulilima RDC is a spoke council, mentored by Umguza Rural District Council in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming in local government. According to the 2022 census council serves a total of 20,837 households with an average household size of 4.1.

Has a gender policy which establishes a clear vision and commitments to guide the process of gender mainstreaming and women empowerment.
Provision of piped water schemes reduces distances travelled to fetch water.
Held SRHR campaigns and educational sessions and outreach programs especially for adolescent girls.
