Botha-Bothe Urban Council COE

Botha-Bothe (also spelled Butha-Buthe) is a district and town in northern Lesotho, serving as an important administrative, cultural, and economic hub. The town of Botha-Bothe serves as the district seat, anchoring the surrounding rural and semi-urban communities. The region is characterized by a mix of highland terrain and more accessible lowland areas, reflecting the varied geography of Lesotho’s northern frontier.

In terms of governance, Botha-Bothe is administered through an Urban Council, which is part of Lesotho’s three-tier local government system (district, urban/community, and community councils). The Botha-Bothe Urban Council is composed of directly elected councillors and includes two gazetted chiefs who represent traditional authority in the council structure.
