Introduction

The Rural Minicipality of Anosimena is located in the Menabe region, in the district of Miandrivazo. It has been recognized as a Center of Excellence since 2011, following a partnership with the SAHA program. The commune has already completed the ten steps of the recognition process as a Center of Excellence and participated in the National Summits in 2012 and 2013.
One of the main challenges facing the commune is the condition of the roads: although it is located only 15 km from the national highway, access becomes very difficult, if not impossible, during the rainy season.
Despite these constraints, the municipality is one of the most visited tourist sites in the region, thanks to the presence of a river crossing connecting Belo and Tsiribina, making tourism one of the municipality's major economic assets.
Due to the high mobility of the population in the area, the municipality actively conducts awareness campaigns on sexual and reproductive health. These actions focus in particular on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS, voluntary screening, the distribution of condoms in accommodation facilities, and awareness-raising in schools to prevent early and unwanted pregnancies, one of the main causes of school dropout among young girls.
The municipality continues to carry out these prevention activities on a regular basis, even though no cases of HIV/AIDS have been detected among those tested to date.
