Ambohimirary is one of the Centres of Excellence that is difficult to access. It becomes impossible for vehicles to reach the area during the rainy season.
Introduction

The Rural Municipality of Ambohimirary is located in the district of Anjozorobe, within the Analamanga region. Covering an area of approximately 100 km², the commune has a population of 8,261 inhabitants, including 4,068 men and 4,193 women. It has nine public primary schools and two general secondary schools.
The municipality joined the Centre of Excellence (COE) project in 2011. With a baseline score of 49, it has made significant progress in promoting women’s empowerment and supporting survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) through the integration of a gender-sensitive approach at the institutional level.
