Located in the Mashonaland West Province. The Council’s area of jurisdiction covers 9327,41km and comprised of 2 sub-offices namely Turf and Kadoma. It is made up of 16 wards categorized as follows; Communal, Resettlement schemes, peri-urban and Large commercial farms. Mhondoro Ngezi Rural District Council Head Office is at Mamina Growth Point.Mhondoro-Ngezi Rural District Council has a gender policy which guides gender activities. The council has 16 councillors (14 male and 2 female). The council has 6 committees and none are chaired by women. Regards to women’s participation in council activities 51-75% of women in Mhondoro-Ngezi participate in women’s day celebrations; water point committes and ward field days.Mhondoro-Ngezi RDC has a staff complement of 178 employees, of whom only 40 are women. Women constitute only 42% of management (5 out of 12 managers). Mhondoro-Ngezi RDC has an Accountant, Lands officer and the Engineer occupying non-traditional. Zimbabwe by law prescribes a paid maternity leave of three months thus Mhondoro-Ngezi provisions for it. The council also has a provision for paternity leave of 1 month. The council does has a sexual harassment policy through which cases of sexual harassment are dealt with. Mhondoro-Ngezi has disability-friendly access to public toilets in the council’s jurisdiction.Mhondoro-Ngezi Rural District Council allocates a budget to gender-related projects, between 2016 and 2017 as below:

In the area of local economic development Mhondoro-Ngezi Rural District Council has partnered with ZIMPLATS, a local mining company for the establishment of fisheries and irrigation scheme in silverstar.
