GL@25: Women-led change when it matters most

It feels like just yesterday — during the uncertainty of COVID — when you responded to our application and trusted us to act in a moment that required courage, compassion, and quick action.
We remain deeply grateful not only for the support, but also for the recognition received at the WVL SADC Protocol@Work Summit. Being acknowledged as a “Gender and COVID-19 Winner” in recognition of our outstanding contribution to the promotion of gender equality was both humbling and affirming.
Your additional feedback describing the work as innovative, sustainable, and worthy of replication continues to inspire how we design and scale our initiatives.
Through the Women’s Voice and Leadership support, we implemented the Umthombo Township initiative, empowering women in the informal economy to grow their businesses, strengthen their confidence, and uplift their communities.
The impact of that investment lives on — in the women, their families, and the ecosystems we continue to build.
Thank you for believing in grassroots, women-led change when it mattered most.
We would truly value the opportunity to reconnect and explore how we can continue building on this shared journey.
