Removing all gender abuses is a priority in our media house we are equal no matter whatâ € , Since 2011 radio Maria has been wishing to be on top of all media houses that are part of the Centre of Excellence. As a result it has been committed I with issues of Gender Balance. It has adopted the Gender Policy and make it a living document. This has made the station to serve its audience with integrity and humility. Our Media House believes that we have all the power to change the mind set of our listeners because most them rely on the media for information education an entertainment. And it is a fact that people tend to perceive that everything they watch or hear in the media is true. With this facts our media house increased the number of gender programmes and we ensure that the have an impact on vulnerable people . Our producer have been friends of women and children in prison , sex worker , street kids and orphans to make sure that every voice count.â € œThe Gender Policy guides our conscience in the sense that it reminds us the role we supposed s to play in mainstreaming gender at our work place as a Centre of Media Excellence . We have the power to ask the management team if we see that something is wrong. And we stand up speak out and fight back for our rights as female employees
