It is a good practice because for so many years, Gender Based Violence lived on and it affected mostly women and children, in our African culture it was believed that whenever a woman or child does wrong, the only way to correct them is to beat them up and for that reason, they (victims) saw it as a normal thing and never reported it to anyone or to the Police, it was only after the police started teaching people that it was wrong to do that and apprehending the offenders/perpetrators, that is when a lot of people became aware of the GBV and started coming forth to report it.
