Organising women in media and in gender development work.

The organisation has managed to organise women in media and in gender development work. IAWRT is a neutral organisation where women from other associations and NGOs obtain knowledge and other support related to women in the development sphere. It is a place they can provide opinions on what needs to be done to promote gender equality.The major achievement is solidarity in seeking changes from the government and other levels.It has been effective due to:â € ¢ Sufficient evidence obtained through studies or surveys; â € ¢ Adequate ground work by member organisations; â € ¢ Sensitisation of the target groups to support the initiative; â € ¢ Appropriate strategies are used; â € ¢ Support by members and their organisations and interested partners (financial and human resources); and â € ¢ Strong leaders.
