
Rakoto Noromalala Clairette

Holder of a Master's Degree in Private Law from the University of Madagascar, Rakoto Noromalala Clairette dedicated 25 years of her career as a State Civil Servant within the Ministry responsible for Women and Children. Her expertise allowed her to represent Madagascar at major international events, including:
- The Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing (1995)
- The Fifth World Conference in New York (2000)
She also participated in sub-regional meetings for Southern and Eastern Africa dedicated to the preparation and follow-up of these summits.
As a Pioneer in Gender and Development, she organized various awareness- raising workshops and seminars at all levels (local, regional, national) to promote the implementation of CEDAW (the Convention on the Elimination
of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women). Her actions subsequently contributed to:
- The revision of existing laws
- The creation of new legal provisions to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
For the implementation of the 12 critical areas of the Beijing Declaration, numerous associations were established. Women's empowerment remains to this day a central focus, along with advocacy efforts toward political authorities for the application of gender parity (50/50).
Today, she leads a new mission as President of the Parents' Association for 120 children with intellectual disabilities at Les Orchidées Blanches NGO (Androhibe, Antananarivo).
