These are some of the findings of the ground-breaking Gender and Media Audience Study conducted by Gender Links in partnership the Media Institute of Southern Africa, the Gender and Media Southern Africa Network, the Media
Monitoring Project universities and media advocacy organisations across Southern Africa in 2004 and 2005. It is the first major study of audience responses and preferences to the news in Southern Africa, as well as the only such study that disaggregates these findings by gender.
