CALL: Independent Member of the Audit, Risk and Compliance (ARC) Committee of Gender Links (GL)
Gender Links, a dynamic Southern African NGO based in Johannesburg, promoting gender equality and justice, seeks the pro-bono services of an experienced, skilled, highly motivated and committed independent member of its Audit, Risk and Compliance (ARC) Committee. All who wish to be considered should submit a letter of motivation, CV and references here by 20 November 2026. The GL Head Quarters is located in Johannesburg.
GL is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals, or from companies who wish to second an individual as part of their CSI programming, for membership of its ARC which reports directly to the GL Board of Directors. ARC is instrumental in the fulfilment of the Board’s oversight responsibilities and oversees amongst others:
- the integrity of GL’s financial reporting to stakeholders;
- the performance of the internal audit function;
- the implementation of financial policies and procedures;
- the independence and performance of GL’s external auditors; and
- GL’s adherence to principles of good governance and ethical business practices.
GL strives to comply with the King IV Good Governance measures as appropriate for the NGO sector.
Suitably qualified candidates must be Chartered Accountants and have experience in one or more of: Risk Management; Audit Management, or Financial Management. Experience in these fields in an NGO is highly desired. GL being a feminist organization, female candidates will have an added advantage and are encouraged to apply for this position.
The committee meets quarterly (4 times a year), for about 2 hours, mostly virtually. A schedule of meetings is provided a year in advance. All GL Board members are volunteers, and do not receive remuneration for Board Duties. GL will, however, meet all reasonable costs associated with attendance of the meetings.
