Determined to challenge the status quo

Mary Mliswa is a renowned Zimbabwean politician who has successfully navigated the complexities of politics, defying societal expectations and gender stereotypes. Born into a family with a strong interest in politics, Mary's journey began when she joined Zimbabwean political structures while she was abroad. With a strong foundation in politics, Mary's determination to challenge the status quo led her to become a Member of Parliament for Hurungwe West constituency and later, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland West Province.

As the current Hurungwe Rural District Council Chairperson, Mary continues to break barriers and inspire other women to participate in politics.
