Rethabile Pholo works with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of Lesotho as the Chief Technical Officer. Mr.Pholo joined the IEC in 1998 and amongst his key public relations responsibilities, he ensures maintenance of IEC's corporate integrity through development and interpretation of the Commission's programmes to the public. As a long serving Senior Officer at IEC, Mr.Pholo is one of the most respected IEC personnel and his highly-esteemed position would be beneficial to GL's work and the gender movement both in Lesotho and Southern Africa region

Through his knowledge and experience with Lesotho and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) electoral processesand laws, access to political parties' leadership and Senior Government officials and regular interaction with media, Mr.Pholo has wealth of information, networks with governments and politicians. Mr.Pholo is a self acclaimed supporter of initiatives that promote gender equality and on several occasions, he has expressed support for issues of women's presentation and participation at all levels of governance.
