Marie-Annick Savripène holds a diploma in journalism from L’Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme de Paris in France. Since her return to Mauritius where she was born, she has been employed by l’express, the leading daily in the island. During her 20 years of employment, she has been affected to the general news and also to the supplement for the young people. After six years, she has been exclusively working for the women’s supplement named Expressions which she headed at some point. Afterwards, she specialised in women’s and children’s affairs, social and health issues and NGOs activities. During the last two years, she has concentrated on portraits. Her association with Gender Links dates as far back as the creation of Media Watch Organisation by Loga Virahsawmy. It remained a part-time relationship until last November when she became a full-time employee of Gender Links, being affected to the francophone satellite office based in Mauritius.
