Eduardo Namburete is the founding dean and senior lecturer of the School of Communication and Arts at the Eduardo Mondlane University, in Mozambique. He has worked in the media for nearly 23 years, having worked as the director of Research at the Mozambique's Institute of Social Communications and as foreign desk reporter for The Washington Times, in Washington, D.C., in the United States of America. Namburete has been a MAP facilitator for GL, having worked on several of GL projects, currently he is assisting with local government project in Mozambique.

He is currently a member of the board of Africa University in Zimbabwe, where he is the chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee. In the past five years he served as Member of Parliament of Mozambique in the International Relations Committee and in the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Namburete has been involved in a number of researches projects addressing issues of Gender, HIV and AIDS, reproductive health, democracy and good governance, and is associated with universities in Brazil, Portugal and United States.
