The sixteen days of activism against gender violence runs from the 25th of November to the 10th of December each year. 25 November is the international day for prevention of violence against women. Read more about the campaign and view the calendar of events.

I Stories
GL is pleased to announce the launch of the second volume of “I” Stories, first hand accounts of gender violence from around Southern Africa, as part of the 2006 Sixteen Days of Activism campaign. The 20 written stories are accompanied by nine radio interviews. They will be launched in Johannesburg at the Take Back the Night March. Taking Stock
As a member of the coordination committee of the South African National Action Plan Task team, GL will coordinate a high level panel to take stock of progress since the 2005 campaign. This will be followed up by as video link up between the four countries (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mauritius and Namibia) that have extended the sixteen day campaign to 365. Regional Activities
The Gender and Media Southern Africa (GEMSA) Network will be co-ordinating Sixteen Days activities in 13 Southern African countries. Visit the GEMSA website to view regional activities for the 16 days campaign.  For more information email justice@genderlinks.org.za.
