Gender Links and the then recently launched GMDC hosted learners on the 29 May 2008 as part of CELL C's Take a girl child to work initiative. Ten grade seven learners from Cyrildene Primary school and ten grade eleven learners from the Thamsanqa Secondary School in Orange Farm spent the morning learning about the media and how it works. This exciting programme provided the opportunity to hear what young women think about the media and hopefully encouraged at least twenty young women to join and run the media industry in future.
