South Africa Gender and Media Literacy for Women Informal Traders 2011

This report outlines the activities of the gender and media literacy course undertaken by Gender Links (GL) in partnership with Ecumenical Service for Socio-Economic Transformation (ESSET). The training was undertaken with women informal traders who work with ESSET from 29 October 2010 to 24 February 2011. The training also coincided with the 16 Days of Activism Against Abuse of Women and Children women and the women actively participated in the campaign. This project is part of GL efforts to empower citizens to engage critically with the media and focused on members of the general public, this course specifically targeted Informal Women Traders.
