On 29 March 2010, the Gender Media and Diversity Centre convened a seminar to discuss the issue of sex work, FIFA World Cup 2010 and beyond. The seminar coincided with a two-day Gender in Media Education (GIME) Conference that the GMDC hosted between 29 and 20 March. The seminar was attended by GIME conference participants who represented journalism and/or media training institutions in 15 countries.
