Trainer’s Notes
:
The article has drawn on a cross section of sources, ranging from HIV/AIDS experts, a person living with HIV/AIDS, government officials and politicians.  Despite dealing with HIV and children, the article does not explain the extent of the problem is in Swaziland and explain what the issues are for children. Children are referred to generally and there is no attempt to examine the experiences of girls and boys to see whether they are different. The article is a good example of language as it does not stigmatise children in any way.

Discussion Questions:
1. What are the ethical issues involved in writing about children and HIV/AIDS? How can children be involved in media whil repecting their needs and rights ?
2. What is the differences between boys and girls that influence how they are affected by HIV and AIDS ?

Training Exercises
1. Divide participants into four groups, have each write a commentary on one of the for P's mentioned in the story.
