(1)

The SADC Gender Protocol Barometer analyses a matrix of indicators, and maps out the current state regarding various social, political, education, health and economic indicaters. The Barometer will help civil society to track the progress made by SADC Member States towards achieving the set targets in the protocol. It will also be a tool for governments to measure their own delivery on commitments made and to measure progress towards achieving gender equality by 2015. There are also clear and comprehensive institutional mechanisms for
monitoring and evaluating progress.
