Revitalizing the women's movement: report of the EASSI's ten years anniversary celebrations

EASSI is a sub-regional civil society organization which was established in 1996 to facilitate systematic follow up of the African Platforms for Action and the Beijing Platforms for action emanating from the 4th World conference on Women held in China in 1995. It represents 8 countries in the sub-region namely, Burundi, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda. This report looks at progress made in the 10 years after Beijing. The conference was held on November 10-11 2006 in Kampala.
