This article is a first hand account of a widow being dispossessed in Zambia.

Trainer’s notes
This is a compelling first hand account that not only conveys the facts but also how the experience left a professional woman feeling; for example being psychologically disarmed, disempowered etc. It also demonstrates the importance of legal literacy.
 
Some training exercises
In which ever country you are training in Southern Africa, there are likely to be women with similar experiences. Invite them to come and talk about their experiences and allow time for participants to ask questions.
