Since the launch of the HIV and AIDS and Gender Baseline Study in 2006, the MAP policy roll out process has enjoyed steady progress in Malawi. Together with Mozambique, Zambia and Tanzania, Malawi had a high number of media houses targeted for MAP of 27. However, this number went down because some of the media houses were closed in the period 2006-2007. The target for the roll out process in Malawi in the period under review was 24 media houses out of which 21 have drafted policies. The remaining media houses have given buy-in but had not moved to the drafting stages.
