Lesotho Gender and Media training workshop 2011

(1)

This brief report details the activities of the National University Lesotho (NUL) Gender and Media Literacy training conducted at NUL from 7 - 24 February 2011. This media literacy training is the second one to be hosted by NUL and Gender Links (GL), the first one was for citizens and the second one for first year students in the Department of Research, Evaluation and Media.

The course was based on the training manual Watching the Watchdogs which was developed by GL in 2006. The training manual was adapted and enhanced with local Zimbabwe examples from the media as well as those used in the Gender and Media Progress Study 2010 (GMPS) research so as to make it relevant to the participants' context.
