Seve Mahlangu strides into his small tavern in Kwathema Springs. He's wearing a long coat with shine high shoes leather Italian boots. When Mahlangu talks about homophobia, his anger is aparent in the way he raises his eyebrows.

Even so Mahlangu praises Kwathema as one of the better places to be openly gay in South Africa, "these people respect gays" he says gesturing towards his patrons seated in the plastic chair in the cramped room.
