Guide to the Namibian Economy 2009

This book is the circulation of at least ten years of work. It draws on research, articles, interviews and opinion pieces I have written for a variety of organisations including The Namibian, Growth Namibia, the Institute for Public Policy Research, Insight Namibia, the Namibia Institute for Democracy, IJG Securities as well as for the Namibian Government and a range of private clients. The intention was to bring together all the publicly available data and information to produce a book on Namibia's economy which would be useful not only to economists, analysts, policymakers, researchers, and journalists but also to anyone with an interest in the Namibian economy. Writing it has made me realise just how far Namibia has come in 18 years. But it has also highlighted that we need to do much better in future if we are to provide jobs and incomes for all the people rather than just the privileged few. It is my hope that greater understanding of issues we face will help achieve this goal.
