There has been a marginal increase of 1% in the proportion of women sources in the news in Namibia from 19% in the 2003 Gender and Media Baseline Study (GMBS) to 20% in the Gender and Media Progress Study (GMPS). This is 1% higher than the regional average of 19%, but lower that the global average in the 2010 Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP) of 24%. There are however variations between individual media houses from the Windhoek Observer's 29% and to One Africa TV's 16%.
