The Botswana media literacy project was a joint collaboration between Gender Links, the Botswana chapter of the Gender and Media Southern Africa Network (GEMSA) and the University of Botswana. The course was coordinated by the GEMSA country facilitator, Keabonye Ntsabane.

This report therefore details the training conducted in Botswana between the 2nd of June and the 4th of August 2008. This course targeted members of the public in nongovernmental organisations but who work regularly with communications. Three NGOs were targeted, namely Botswana Media Women's Association (BOMWA) Marang Child Network Trust and Young Men Christian Association.
