The purpose of this rapid assessment was to assess the cultural attitudes, perceptions and practices of the people residing in the Seke area that predisposed them to HIV infection before the implementation of inverventions by SAfAIDS (an NGO based in Zimbabwe). The issues addressed were wife inheritance, polygamy, girl sacrifice, virginity testing, condom use, male infidelity, faith and traditional healers' involvement with female clients, gender based violence, marriage counselling for young girls, negotiating for safer sex and voluntary counselling and testing.
