Community Social Mobilisation to End AIDS: The Star Approach in Action

This shared learning publication is synthesized from the Action Research study undertaken in 8 countries. It aims to determine the effectiveness, relevance, efficiency and sustainability on the use of STAR (Societies Tackling AIDS through Rights) in community social mobilisation for holistic response to HIV and AIDS. An audit of STAR by end of 2008 showed that over 300 communities and a 128,200 people have benefited directly in 19 countries. To date there are over 2.5 million indirect beneficiaries.
