The Citizen Journalism in Africa (CJA) Project is a partnership between the Southern African NGO Network (SANGONeT) and the Humanist Institute for Cooperation with Developing Countries (Hivos). The project aims at building capacity among selected civil society organisations (CSOs) to use online and offline citizen journalism as a means of publication, lobbying,networking and knowledge sharing with their respective constituencies. This abstract will focus on CJA expriences and challenges, its users who were trained to produce and train other people back in their communties.
