The DVD draws on examples and cases studies from Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Namibia, South Africa and Swaziland to demonstrate the impact of different electoral system and the use of quotas on increasing women's representation in decision making positions, also highlighting the importance of and enabling legal framework, political will and commitment from political party leaders.

There are examples of specific 50/50 campaigns, highlighting the importance of raising awareness at the local level as well as creating an enabling environment for women to participate effectively including for example forming multi party women's caucuses. The DVD highlights some examples of the work that women are doing at the local level and the role of the media in ensuring that women, especially women leaders, are represented equally and fairly in the media.

We can learn a lot from that in the Netherlands, especially concerning the media treatment of women, that is also very unequal in our country.
